As I contemplated my whiskies this evening in search of something that would warm the cockles of my heart, the
Kilchoman Winter 2010 seemed to draw me in? What can I say? Kilchoman seem to have their finger on the pulse? They say“If you speak to older people on Islay who have worked in distilleries they will generally agree that the best whisky is made in cold weather ." Well if winter produces this quailty of whisky then bring on the long cold winters and fantastic drams! They are slightly different, I'm pleased to say. I found this dram had a sweetness of caramel and butterscotch, along with its peaty hit, mmmmm! Like all other Kilchomans it rises to the challenge of their mantra..... " there is nothing wrong with a young whisky, its how you make it ".... and they undoubtedly can make it!!
